Got an Apple watch? Why spend another fortune on a stand to charge it?
Here's an easy to make a stand on the cheap.
It's not the prettiest stand. But it will only cost you about 3 dollars. And it takes about 45 minutes to make.
Here's what you need:
MATERIALS:
- (1) 2oz package of polymer clay
- wax paper
- some kind of tool like a knife or clay shaping tool (optional)
- watch charging cable
1. Remove plastic from clay and start shaping.
2. Get the bottom as flat as you can by pressing it down onto the wax paper. Then start shaping the front. You want it flat but not too thin.
3. Press the magnetic charger into the clay with the cable pointing down. You need to also press the cable into the clay. Then pick up the clay and press the cable under the bottom. This will be the channel for your cable.
4. Test fit the watch. And make sure everything is smooth.
5. Gently remove the watch and cable. Be careful not to squeeze the clay. You want the charger and cable to have a tight fit. This is where a knife or clay shaping tool come in handy.
Leave the clay on the wax paper. And put it on a cookie sheet.
Once it cools down. You're done.
